Dammit man,
don't tempt me.
I drove the Miata in to work this week... and the noise is enough to make me want to consider this, with a nice dynamat lined headliner.
But the spouse would probably kill me for deleting the option to put the top down.

That on a NA would be super dope.

but it was a legit thing on this chassis in Japan

I'm not really a convertible guy.. But if a vendor made one of these i can honestly say I'd buy the next clean miata I saw. Is there a way I can buy one without it being made in some guys basement or without building it myself? I'm a DIY kind of guy but this just seems like a little much for someone not familiar with Miatas

He copied the Japanese market only NB coupe. I believe only 179 or so were made and sold in Japan.

Oh my gosh. I like the Miata, but I don't want a convertible.
I NEED THIS.

True, I have seem a few in Japan, should have been available everywhere, I hate convertibles!

This needs a targa option, ala Corvette or Gen III Supra.
Then, and only then, will I buy a Miata

There are a few companies making them already.

thanks!

very nice!
I think the legit coupe that was briefly sold in Japan had a full liftback, glass and all, but this is a pretty elegant solution

Most convertibles look so wrong, right? That's why I prefer the coupe 99% of the time.

I hate having the sun on me when I drive, they are less rigid, people can cut into the car, they gave up space somewhere else to accommodate the roof mechanicals, they are generally heavier (sometimes a lot heavier).... But mainly I hate having the sun on my head, so then wear a hat? I have cars with sun roofs but I only open them at that perfect time of day when its warm and the sun is going down.
